“ISRO’s Deleted Post: Chandrayaan-3 Lander Captured by Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter Amid Lunar Exploration”

ISRO Deletes Post Showing Chandrayaan-3 Lander Captured by Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) shared high-resolution photographs of the Chandrayaan-3 lander spotted on the Moon’s surface by the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter. However, the post was swiftly deleted without explanation. The captured images showcased the Chandrayaan-3 lander, highlighting the orbiter’s advanced camera capabilities and ISRO’s continued progress in lunar exploration. The Chandrayaan-2 mission’s orbiter has been diligently collecting vital data for the past four years since the unfortunate crash-landing of its Vikram lander on the Moon in 2019. The high-resolution camera on the orbiter, known as the High-Resolution Camera (OHRC), has delivered remarkable imagery that has greatly contributed to the scientific understanding of the lunar environment.

ISRO took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the images and express their excitement: “I spy you! πŸ™‚ Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter πŸ“Έphotoshoots Chandrayaan-3 Lander!” The post acknowledged the remarkable achievement of capturing the Chandrayaan-3 lander on camera shortly after its successful soft landing on the Moon’s surface.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission marked a historic achievement for India as the Vikram lander, carrying the Pragyan rover, achieved a soft landing on the Moon’s surface. This feat solidified India’s position as the fourth country to achieve a soft landing on the lunar terrain and the first to reach the uncharted south pole of the Moon.

Despite the deletion of the post, the Chandrayaan-3 mission’s separate social media account shared a similar update and remained available for public viewing.

ISRO has been actively working on advancing its lunar exploration program. ISRO Chairman S Somanath confirmed the smooth progress of rover mobility operations and the functioning of Lander Module payloads. He reassured that the Vikram lander’s landing was precise, touching down within 300 meters of the designated landing point, showcasing ISRO’s precise engineering and navigation prowess.

The deleted post incident highlights the intrigue surrounding ISRO’s recent achievements and advancements in space technology. As India continues to make strides in its space endeavors, enthusiasts and experts alike eagerly anticipate further developments from the space agency.
